2018

I aimed to paint a series of 10 paintings in the yolk tempera technique on canvas and to make 4 objects referring to the paintings. Daily surroundings, momentary phenomena, changeability, are the main themes of my works. Searching for the border between the recognizable, realistic and unobvious are the basic issues of my painting problems.

The painted shadow appearing outside the image space is one of the motives on which I am currently focusing. This “absent” presence of an object in the painting has inspired my interest in the zone in front of the picture. These observations led me to expand my artistic searches to include three-dimensional objects.

The scholarship was financed by

the Minister of Culture and National Heritage.

The objects correspond to two-dimensional painting works through the shapes taken from the paintings. When properly illuminated, they cast shadows. A shadow is shown in three versions; a painted shadow, a shadow – an object, and a shadow that is created from an illuminated shadow – an object.
